Jessica Waszkiewicz

Meet Jessica Waszkiewicz, Almar's in-house interior designer

With a BFA and certification in Interior Design, Jessica combines creativity and technical expertise with craft spaces that truly feel like home. Her career has taken her from working on large-scale multi-unit residential developments—honing skills in architectural plans, budgeting, and selections—to collaborating directly with homeowners to design personalized spaces that balance beauty, practicality, and future needs.

As a mom of three busy boys, she understands the importance of functional, family-friendly design and enjoys helping homeowners create spaces that support aging in place, ensuring their homes grow and adapt with them over time.

"I lean toward a Transitional style in my home—a mix of traditional charm and modern flair. I’m drawn to wooden accents, layered textures in neutral tones, and a touch of metal for contrast. I love working with affordable natural materials and weaving in my ever-growing houseplant collection.

And while I adore a calming palette, I’m all for embracing bold colors in my boys’ bedrooms to reflect their personalities. After all, a home should be as unique and dynamic as the people who live there!"

Interior Design FAQs

Almar's interior designers are here to assist you at every step of your project. You can choose the level of involvement that best suits your needs, whether it's initial selections, design advice, or staying on track with material selections.

Working with an interior designer during a remodel can streamline the process, save you time, and elevate your space. They'll help with everything from initial design concepts and space planning to material selection and work with the production team to make sure everything is in order. This ensures a cohesive and functional design that reflects your personal style.

While hiring an interior designer may seem like an added expense, it can save you money in the long run.

By involving a designer during the project development phase, you'll gain expert guidance and tailored selection suggestions that align with your budget.  This proactive and streamlined approach helps minimize costly mistakes and ensures efficient decision-making, saving time and money.

For instance, many small but critical details can be overlooked during a project. If you're forced to make last-minute decisions, you may settle for something less ideal or pay extra for rush delivery. Planning ahead with an interior designer avoids these pitfalls and keeps your project running smoothly and cost-effectively.

Our interior designers are key in streamlining your remodeling project with Almar Building & Remodeling. We manage critical tasks like space planning, material selection, and coordination with our project management team, taking the stress off your shoulders and saving you valuable time.

With expert guidance and budget-conscious recommendations, we ensure a seamless and efficient process. By addressing details up front, we help prevent scheduling delays and interruptions that could extend the time your home is under construction. Additionally, we handle communications with trade partners to keep everything on track, ensuring your project runs smoothly from start to finish.

Absolutely! An interior designer dedicates countless hours to researching and curating selections. This process involves consulting with trade partners, showroom representatives, project managers, and other designers to gather insights and options. This thorough research allows us to identify the perfect selections tailored to your needs.

By working with our interior design team, you'll save valuable time. Our designers take care of the initial legwork and narrow choices to present you with the best options. This means you can enjoy the exciting part—choosing finishes—without the stress and hassle of sifting through endless possibilities. Instead, you’ll have more time to focus on the other important aspects of your life while we handle the design details for you.

No, you are not obligated to use our in-house designers. We understand many homeowners have their own designers or may wish to explore other options.

We can seamlessly collaborate with your designer or work with one of our talented trade partner designers to ensure a smooth and successful project.

While both professions create beautiful spaces, the difference lies within their scope of work and education.

Interior designers are responsible for the layout, functionality, flow, and even lighting of a room or building. They also handle budgeting and project management and have an education that focuses on professional standards, space planning, and building codes.

Interior decorators focus primarily on a space's aesthetic elements, such as furniture, color schemes, accessories, textiles, and wall treatments. A decorator’s skills are more related to styling and aesthetic choices than structural expertise.
