Project Spotlight: Quincy Bathroom Renovation
Bathrooms are a great space to make improvements to, because they are used so often. According to Remodeling Magazine 2016 Cost versus Value Report homeowners in the Boston area could recoup as much as 67% of the project cost when they go to sell the home.
Almar recently finished a bathroom renovation in Quincy Ma. The homeowners found our team while doing research online. The Almar website is full of useful information and articles to help homeowners start planning their project. They wanted to reconfigure an existing bathroom and laundry room into a single Master B
ath with a Laundry.
The challenge for our team on this project was making the owners wish list fit into the space allocated.
To help save costs we kept the existing toilet and vanity in their existing locations. We called in one of our expert painting partners who determined that he could paint and refinish the existing vanity- we then installed a new counter top to update the look.
We utilized the extra space from the second room, combining the 2 rooms into a single large room with a closet for a new stack able wash and dryer. Next we were able to build a large custom tile shower with frame less shower doors. In addition we built in for an oversized 2 person soaking tub with Kohler Air Bath Hydrotherapy.
The tub was a challenge because of the size and how much weight it could hold. We added extra supports during the framing process. We had to have an engineer specify the proper framing to support the tub.
This customer has a great vision for finish colors and trim work. They accented the bathroom with a nice hanging light fixture. Today’s bathroom can be all you want it to be.
