Accessible Bathroom & Deck

Some projects come to you, and you really come to love the family. For our team, this was a project for love. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy created the need for our team to help this family. As the son aged, these parents needed more space and access for their son in the bathroom and other areas of the house. We created a completely accessible wet room, which included floor-to-ceiling tile with a fully waterproof roll-in shower. We framed in extra supports and worked with the homeowners and a company that installed a track system for his lift to get him from the bedroom to the bathroom. Widened doorways for his wheelchair, and from the sunroom, we installed a french door that opened wide so he could roll right out onto a new Azek composite deck.
